How You Can Finally Crush Continued Milwaukee County Waste and Corruption

We thought we caught it and eradicated it back in 2002 but we were wrong.  The fact that cronyism and self-dealing continues its virulent infestation of Milwaukee County government was laid bare by a recent Milwaukee Journal Sentinel "Watch Dog" report detailing rampant pension theft that throws another $50 million sucker punch in the face of taxpayers.  The illegal pension "buy-back" and "buy-in" schemes push the total tax take-away to near a crushing $200 million and hastens the county death spiral.

Given that current county supervisor Michael Mayo participated in the scheme while a member of the pension board belies any claim that "no one knew."  Perhaps the most arrogant words were spoken by former supervisor Tom Bailey who broke the rules but still got his hands on thousands before skipping out, “Some day when I am 74 years old and limping around the golf course, I am sure I will be glad that I made this request (for the pension buy-back).” The cold hard fact is that there are many other senior citizens currently “limping” around their backyards wondering how they will pay their property taxes in order to cover Bailey's greens fees!  Bailey's attitude sharply illustrates just how deep the culture of self-dealing has embedded itself in the county and how the actions of just a few hundred "bad apples" can result in millions in waste and corruption.

The Milwaukee County Board continues to plead poverty and is attempting to raise sales taxes by $120 million while seeking fraudulent pay raises for themselves.  They also claim there is no more "fat" to trim from the budget. Huh?  What about the $50 million the Journal Sentinel just found?  HOW MUCH MORE IS THERE WE DON'T KNOW ABOUT?  HOW CAN WE CONTINUE TO TRUST THESE PEOPLE?!

What Can I Personally Do to Help End the Waste and Corruption?

Here are some simple things you can do that are both quick and effective.

1. Get your name and contact information on the CRG Network contact list.  We cannot let you know what is going on if we cannot talk to you.  If you wish, you may become a paid associate or delegate member or simply make a contribution of time talent or money to fight the new pension scandal.  CRG Network was planning a major announcement in six months regarding our new national backing and expanded capabilities.  This latest scandal has accelerated those plans.  It is not ideal but you have to work with what you are handed.  Here is your chance to get in on the ground floor.

2. Contact your county supervisor and demand that he or she backs County Executive Scott Walker's attempt to have illegal pension money returned to the taxpayers.  You may also contact your county supervisor by simply calling the main switchboard at 414-278-4222 and providing your address.

3. Support county supervisors who support County Executive Scott Walker at the next election.  For those in the Cudahy and South Milwaukee area, their is special election Tuesday, August 7th to replace turncoat supervisor Ryan McCue.  The fiscally conservative candidate is Chris Kujawa

4. Talk to your friends, neighbors, and community officials.  Tell them all to put the heat on a Milwaukee County Board that constantly pursues new taxes while they let waste and plunder continue for personal gain.  There are already people whispering about withdrawing from the county or dismantling it all together.  It is this kind of talk, talk that threatens the job of every county politician and manager, that might scare them straight.

5.  Keep abreast of new proposals, developments, announcements at this website!  For example, check out the latest CRG press release that introduces the concept of a self-funded Office of Public Accountability, an Internal Affairs Division of sorts whose sole mission is to root out waste and corruption.
